About Darren

Many years ago I walked into my first yoga class. I didn’t know it at the time, but that simple decision would change the course of my life. Before I found yoga and meditation, my body ached, my mind was chaotic and my heart wounded. Today, life has its ups and downs and I stumble and fall often, but I’m able to return to my center more quickly thanks to my practice.

Because of yoga and meditation, I was able to come out and then to live well with HIV. Most importantly, yoga and meditation helped me to find the courage necessary to become a single father and then to remain present to my son through life’s many highs and lows.

Restorative Yoga

Restorative yoga is a very gentle inward form of yoga where the body is placed in highly therapeutic postures that are supported with props while the mind is invited to slow down and watch the breath. The result is a state of relaxation much deeper than traditional sleep.

Yoga on the Labyrinth

Each week hundreds of people fill San Francisco’s iconic Grace Cathedral to practice yoga and meditation. Taught by teacher and author Darren Main, and set to live music offered by a variety of renowned musicians, this gathering is truly unique.

India Yoga Retreat

Practice yoga on the banks of the Ganges, meditate with mystics and experience the sights and sounds of this ancient culture on this exciting pilgrimage to the foothills of the Himalayas in the “Yoga Capital”
