schedule menu class schedule workshops & events teacher training retreats Naked Yoga for Men booking Yoga on the Labyrinth Yoga Tree 200 Hour Basic Certification The Yoga Tree Teacher Training program is a 200-hour Level One certification program carefully designed for serious students of yoga who want to deepen their practice as well as for those students who wish to become teachers themselves. As a student in our training program, you will meet three weekends a month for six months. Each weekend you will go deep into the practice of yoga, enhancing your knowledge and honing your practice in a wide range of topics - from alignment and anatomy to philosophy and meditation. The Restorative Yoga Intensive The Restorative Yoga Intensive is a 40-hour program developed by Darren Main to help serious yoga students deepen their understanding of restorative yoga while providing continuing education of yoga teachers who wish to incorporate restorative yoga into their teaching skill set. In this program, participants will learn the mechanics of restorative yoga and its effects on the nervous, immune and endocrine systems of the physical body as well as the unique effects of restorative poses on the energetic body (pranamaya kosha). By learning in detail about restorative philosophy and methodology, yoga teachers will acquire the needed tools to incorporate restorative yoga into their classes. Sequencing, the use of gentle assists and supplementary tools such as hot stones and aromatherapy will also be covered and a variety of common medical issues and injuries will be examined in relation to the practice of restorative yoga. The Pranayama Intensive The breath is the key that unlocks the mysteries of yoga. For thousands of years, yoga masters have understood that the physical body is but a tiny piece of the whole being and that the breath is the doorway through which a yogi must walk if he or she wants to truly explore the deepest levels of the psyche. In this 40-hour intensive, we will explore the ancient practice of pranayama and mine the depths to which these time-tested breathing techniques offer access. While this intensive is designed for certified yoga teachers who want to broaden their knowledge of yogic breathing, all serious students of yoga are welcome.
