Yoga and the Path of the Urban Mystic: A Weekend Retreat
December 1 - December 3
For many people, yoga begins as a physical discipline and a tool to heal an injured body or an over-stressed nervous system. But many quickly find that physical health is only the beginning. While yoga was developed in ancient India over thousands of years, the emotional, psychological and spiritual aspects of the practice have never been more relevant or needed. By exploring the contemplative aspects of the practice in a fresh and modern way, we can take our yoga to new depths. In fact, the real yoga journey begins when we roll up our mats and bring that same openness to our relationships with family, friends and romantic partners. And our work and recreational lives become more rewarding and productive when we apply that same mindfulness to the busyness of modern life.
Join author and teacher Darren Main for a weekend of yoga, meditation and community. We will explore the physical practice of yoga in the highlighted in Yoga and the Path of the Urban Mystic and consider ways in which this ancient practice can have a lasting impact on every facet of life. By weaving mindfulness and meditation into the asana practice a deep, rich and rewarding aspect of the practice is revealed and a renewed commitment to a more holistic lifestyle can be attained.
