The Pranayama Intensive
April 29 - April 30
Yoga Tree: Potrero, San Francisco
The breath is the key that unlocks the mysteries of yoga. For thousands of years, yoga masters have understood that the physical body is but a tiny piece of the whole being and that the breath is the doorway through which a yogi must walk if he or she wants to truly explore the deepest levels of the psyche.
In this intensive, we will explore the ancient practice of pranayama. In addition to learning about basic techniques such as alternate nostril breathing (anuloma viloma), ocean-breathing (ujjayi pranayama) and complete yogic breath (dirga pranayama). We will also learn about advanced techniques including the locks (bhandas) breath retention (kumbhaka), kriya breathing and Pranic breathing. While this intensive is designed for certified yoga teachers who want to broaden their knowledge of yogic breathing, students of yoga, medical and psychology professionals are also welcome. Continuing education credit is available.
You Will Learn:
