The Restorative Yoga Intensive
November 4 - November 5
November 4-5, 9AM-5-PM
Yoga Tree: Potrero, San Francisco
While most styles of yoga focus on the movement of the body, Restorative Yoga nurtures the autonomic nervous system and helps shift students out of ‘fight or flight’ and into ‘rest and digest’. This gentle and supportive practice uses a variety of props to fully support the body, allowing for deep relaxation. In finding this quiet state within the nervous system, the body’s natural ability to heal and repair is rediscovered.
In this training, yoga teachers and other healthcare providers will learn to teach a variety of restorative yoga poses. A deeper understanding of chronic stress and its causes will also be explored as well as simple techniques that can be easily employed to invite the nervous system into a much more balanced and restful state. This training is an excellent opportunity for certified yoga teachers to continue their education and/or for students to work toward certification or simply as a way to deepen their restorative practice.
You Will Learn:
• The Principles of Relaxation
• About the Adverse Effects of ‘Fight or Flight’ and Stress Hormones
• Numerous Restorative Poses
• How to Use Hot Stones, Touch and Essential Oils
• Modifications for Common Injuries and Conditions
